Matthew took me to turner falls for a day of fun. It was a beautiful day outside, bright and sunny. I wanted to play in the falls and explore, but matt was dead set on showing me something cool. So we walked around while he tried to find it for a while, and then we finally found it! The castle ruins that were there. So we climbed up all these uneven stone steps to get to the actual castle part not just the stairs. But when we got to the castle part, people had trashed it- so the proposal could not have possibly done their. So I'm guessing plan 2 went into effect as we continued walking up the next sets of stairs, and then more stairs, and some more. Finally the stairs stopped and turned into a path up the mountain. So we walked and walked up that, and finally reached the campsite on top of the mountain. From the top of the mountain there is a beautiful view overlooking the falls, and all the trees, and the sun is shining beautifully. I was in a moment of pure wonder, it was definitely one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Little did I know that this moment of wonder would soon turn into one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Matt began to kneel as I was looking over the edge, but I wondered what the view looked like from the other end so I went over there to check it out. After I did, Matthew dragged me back to the breathtaking view and sat me down on a rock. I was just starting to grasp what he was doing when he knelt down on one knee, and pulled out the ring. A beautiful heart shaped diamond engagement ring that sparkled in the sunlight. Then he asked me to marry him. I was speechless, and was unable to form any words but knew I had to give an answer not just sit there staring at him. So i opened my mouth to say yes, but all that I could get out was, "Mhmm!"
After the engagement the day was just perfect. We went back down the mountain for a much needed swim in the falls, we played in the little streams and caught tadpoles. It was a perfect and wonderful day! Especially for a surprise proposal!
